Everybody hates fundraising. This has been a consistent sentiment expressed by our customers when we have tried to promote the idea of using custom soccer balls as a fundraiser for their clubs and teams. As coaches and youth soccer board members ourselves we can definitely sympathize. In fact, we recently participated in a day-long soccer fundraiser that actually LOST money after expenses were accounted for. Until now the issue with using custom balls to generate funds is that the coach or club has always had to assume all the risk and then work extremely hard to sell enough of them to justify the time. All of our organizations always need extra funds to educate coaches, maintain fields, provide scholarships to players, etc., so unfortunately fundraising will always be a necessary evil within every club and high school program.
To address this problem we are debuting a new website, SoccerFunder.com, in early 2015 that will create a proven legitimate fundraising platform. SoccerFunder.com will assume all the financial risk, and do 95% of the work, while helping you raise an unlimited amount of money for your club or team. Here is how it works:
- We will design a hand-stitched NFHS approved custom training ball, like the ball pictured above, with your logo and color scheme that will be available to reserve for $25 (shipping included) on your unique secure SoccerFunder.com page. This ball is identical to $40 name-brand balls. Over the course of 2015 we will also be adding custom scarves and custom socks as fundraising options.
- All you need to do is send out the link to your club or program via e-mail, and post it on your website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed.
- Individuals can go to your secure SoccerFunder.com page to check out the ball and reserve as many as they would like by entering their credit card information.
- Your organization will receive $10 for every ball reserved and ultimately shipped. The minimum number of balls needed to validate the fundraiser and get the balls produced is 50. Once at least 50 balls have been reserved, and the fundraiser window has closed, the individuals who reserved their balls will automatically have their credit card charged and a receipt will be e-mailed. If you don’t hit the 50 ball minimum nobody will be charged and you have only lost the few minutes it took you to get the link out.
- The balls will arrive in approximately 8 weeks along with a check from Bounce Athletics for a minimum of $500. You could easily receive a check for $1000+ depending on the size of your organization. We will even help you spread the word on how the balls will be distributed by the club or program once they arrive.
